Reading To Kids In The Community

Our Mission

Today’s Readers, Tomorrow’s Leaders is in the business of changing and shaping lives. Our mission is to spread the importance of literacy to young children in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Identify Your Goals & Achieve Them

Haley Day is a student from Roanoke, Virginia, currently attending the University of Virginia. As a kid she suffered from a speech impediment leading her to turn to reading for entertainment. This created a love for reading that would follow her throughout her life.

As she got older, it came to her attention that many children don't have access to the same reading materials that she did growing up. Ever since this awakening, it has been a goal of hers to make reading and its benefits available to as many kids as possible.

Haley has been competing in pageantry since the age of 9. As a pageant title holder, she often participated in community service projects. At the age of 13, she realized she could user her titles to make a difference. She got in contact with her school library department to create what is Today's Readers Tomorrow's Leaders first annual book drive, and the rest is history. To this date, over 9,500 books have been collected to serve children on their quest to become today's proficient young readers and leaders of tomorrow.

The More Things That You Read, The More Things You Will Know

Here at Today’s Readers, Tomorrow’s Leaders, we know that sometimes all it takes to change the world is a little support. Since our founding in 2016, we have been determined to make an impact.

The core of our efforts is to spread to children in the Commonwealth of Virginia the love of reading. We participate in a range of activities including reading to children, holding book drives, collecting books, and donating books to children.

Through all of our endeavors we hope to display the conviction behind our beliefs.
